SHARES also delivers a range of programme’s and activities to local Skelmersdale and Upholland children and families. From sporting clubs to our highly successful Holiday Clubs which run each school holiday in one of our Skelmersdale and Up Holland schools.
SHARES work alongside a range of local partners to help develop the local communities in Skelmersdale and Upholland and to represent the cluster of school’s interests. We have been involved in the following community projects;
Tawd Valley redevelopment project – Shaping the investment into the tawd Valley and ensuring there are educational benefits to this and opportunities for the schools to benefit from it.
GlassBall Arts project – An Arts Council funded project that will see 6 temporary installations and 1 permanent art installation for Skelmersdale.
3G Pitch and sports facilities – working with Delph Side school and other partners to try to save the 3G pitches currently located at Glenburn and bring them back into use for the local community.
Beacon Country Park Play Area – The SHARES Pupil Parliament worked alongside WLBC and SERCO to choose and name a new play area.
Park Run – working with partners to implement park run project in Skelmersdale.
The Big Tidy Up – National initiative taken on by the SHARES Pupil Parliament and implemented across Skelmersdale.
Sports Clubs – SHARES also run a number of community sports clubs across the town based at central venues, these include Netball, Football and Swimming.
